“In twenty years there will be fewer cars in use than there are today.” Do you agree or disagree?
Nowadays life is going at such a rapid pace, that a fast means of transportation is a must for everybody. In my opinion, cars are the most comfortable and fitting of them , and it's not going to change in the next several decades. I feel this way for two reasons, which I will explore in the following essay.
To begin with , using cars is the fastest way to reach a destination, and make it on time with all the conveniences one could get. It's hardly a secret , that people who own cars need far less time to spend on their way to work, to a supermarket, or on running errands. Moreover , life can get complicated , when a person, who does not own a car goes shopping and ends up carrying all the bags back home. Using public transport, a bike,or going on foot can also prove to be challenging when the weather is cold, rainy,or snowy. In my own experience that happened to be even more uncomfortable , than it sounds like. I do not have a car on my own, which is why I have to take a bus to school on an everyday basis , which is something better to avoid in winter when I don't only have to freeze the whole time I'm walking to a bus stop, but also not have a possibility to change into warm clothes once I'm in the vehicle.
The second reason for me being convinced ,that cars are not going away, is the emerging trend of moving to the countryside. Even though people , who live in big cities can use the underground, busses, and trolleys, people in small towns are hardly accustomed to such luxuries, and have to drive a car , if they want to get around the area. As a result, people will unavoidably buy and use many more cars in the future. For instance, my friend, who lives in a small town, is an ecology activist and roots for stopping global warming and pollution on our planet. However , she cannot help but actually buy herself a truck , since it's the only possible means for her to get from one part of the city to the other. This example shows , that everyone has his reasons to use cars, and sometimes the circumstances push you towards it, even if you do not want to.
To conclude, I strongly believe , that cars will still be of great benefit in two decades, and people will continue to exploit them to an even bigger extent, than today. This is because of the convenience of using them and of the ongoing trend to move to the countryside.
