Do you agree or disagree? It is easier for parents to raise children than it was 50 years ago.

Raising a child is a difficult task no matter the time but if it's easier now than it was 50 years ago, I think is not. This mainly because of two reasons lack of time and technology. First comes lack of time, now more than ever parents and specially women are focused on their jobs and professional development. In most developed and undeveloped societies, women work long hours but for different reasons. In well developed countries people make more money to set a standard and productivity is well regarded. On the other hand, in not so developed countries, like my own, women work long hours to make enough money to live, working 2 to 3 jobs to make the minimum to feed their kids. These practices leave them no time to spare to pay the attention their children need while fifty year ago most women still stayed at home to take care of them. Second is the internet and social media. Fifty years ago these inventions did not exist and parents only had to pay attention to the influence the friends of their children had on them. Nowadays we are overflown with information and kids spend most of their time on the internet browsing websites that they might not be allowed to enter because of its content and their age. To summarize I believe it's harder to raise children now than it was fifty years ago due to the influence that the internet has and the decrease of the amount of time spent with them.
