Question :Some people believe that when busy parents do not have a lot of time to spend with their children, the best use of that time is to have fun playing games or sports. Others believe that it is best to use that time doing things together that are related to schoolwork. Which of the two approaches do you prefer? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Nowadays, parents are more concerned about their children's upbringing, but finding spare time is a much more arduous task these days. Some parents prefer to spend their free time helping children to do their homework, while others like to play with their offspring during their spare time. I am inclined to the latter one mainly because of two reasons mentioned in the upcoming paragraphs. Firstly, the most important role of parents is to have a strong bond with their children. Through playing games or sports, parents can have an intimate relationship with their offspring and each counterpart can know more about the traits of each other which can bring more happiness to the family. Young children must feel secure in their homes and they must know they are loved through difficulties and joyful moments without any conditions. Having fun, when all members of a family gathering, can stimulate a strong bond. For instance, when I was a child, during summer my dad and I, went to the park and played basketball. Last day, I went to another park far from my hometown and those memories with my father came to my mind, so I called my dad and said to him how thankful I am that he is my father. Moreover, besides formal lessons, students need to learn informal lessons and I think the best way to learn those skills is through play and communication. By playing, they can strengthen a variety of skills such as the sense of deduction, empathy, and communication. Parents can teach these abilities indirectly during games. For instance, children can learn losing a game is not the end of the world, and even by losing they can be more prepared for the next games which resemble the reality of life. Also, they can improve their critical and strategic thinking during board games or chess games. In conclusion, I think the better way to spend time with children for parents, is to play games. Although many may think parents should focus on children's homework in their free time, in my view, playing games can be a more effective way since it brings a strong bond between parents and children, and improved soft skills in children.
