Question :Some people believe that when busy parents do not have a lot of time to spend with their children, the best use of that time is to have fun playing games or sports. Others believe that it is best to use that time doing things together that are related to schoolwork. Which of the two approaches do you prefer? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Accompanying children is always critical for any child’s development, but having the time to spend with children is also hard to manage , especially for busy parents. When it comes to how to spend time together with their children, some parents would like to spend their extra time indulging in entertainment activities with them, while other parents would choose to do school courses. I definitely consider the former one as the priority. Intimate affection will be established through fun games and sports. busy parents spare all their efforts on work and would lack enough time to enhance the relationships with children, so the process of playing together, this would be an effective catalyst for strengthening the bond between children and their parents. For example, my friend Xiaohua, who has been in an accommodation school for almost three years and only has weekends to spend time at home, his busy parents value the time they spend together and try their best to enjoy the ambiance of family time. His father and he always play cards and golf together, which are very leisurely and relaxing activities. Moreover, through communication in games or sports, they have a better understanding of one's inner thoughts, which is crucial for the positive development of family relationships. Playing games or sports together can cultivate a spirit of cooperation in young children. When Parents instruct their children on how to play sports and explain the kind of roles they play in a team, this all fosters a certain kind of awareness in social interaction. Imagine a child who spends time with parents on leisure activities, through collaboration and cooperation activities, they would better adapt to teamwork. When they engage in their future careers, they would be more competitive in solving problems and managing positions. If parents only focus their free time on working with their children to complete their school work, their children would not be able to develop the same kind of social skills they would need in a real work situation. Admittedly, doing school work with parents may have some advantages. With the assistance of parents, the coursework would be done effectively and children would be able to extrapolate a lot from what their parents have taught them. However, if we look at only the positive sides and continue to ignore the potential negative consequences, the results could be quite serious. Parents’instruction would contribute to the laziness or loss of critical thinking behavior in their children, which would be more severe when these children reach adulthood and would lead to a lot of challenges and problems in their career development. In conclusion, the best use of time with children is to emphasize them to play sports or games due to the enhancement of cooperation skills and the building of positive bonds within the family. The time they spend with their children on sports or games would be productive for the mental and physical development of young children.
