It is better to have broad knowledge of many academic subjects than to specialize in one subject
Some people may claim that a broad knowledge of many subjects is important rather than specializing in one subject because broader knowledge can benefit a person in unexpected situations that life may throw at them. For example, a little knowledge of management can help a person manage their life andver, I disagree with the above instance, and support that specialized knowledge is important for the following reasons. First of all, the presence of specialized knowledge in a person’s life makes them career-ready at an early point in their life. The study that has recently been published in the Nature Journal by the Tokyo University’s graduate student has revealed that the percentage of students getting job are significant higher if they have in-depth knowledge of the subject. In addition, it was inferred from the research, that companies generally prefer to hire students who have graduated with some specialization such as Chemistry, Computer science etc. So a specialized degree in any of the subject can offer a person a decent paid job. It is necessary for the students to focus on a particular subject because the people tends to loose focus due to the presence of the multiple goals. Thus, by gaining the expertise of a subject it will become easier for a student to get a good kick start for their career.
