Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? In the past, young people depended too much on their parents to make decisions for them; today young people are better able to make decisions about their own lives. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Throughout history, there has been a vast amount of change in the different fields. By reading or listening to history, individuals find out some surprising alternations. Dependence on parents, especially in making significant decisions, is a field that has changed. While some people think that young people are more independent from their families in the past, others believe that today, younger ones are more independent than before. Nowadays, young people are more independent, and I have a couple of reasons. first, nowadays young people are learning how to live with vast communications. In the past, people had so limited social interaction. Most of them just communicate with their family members, then learn from them; however, nowadays, young people interact with a variety of people, even strangers, through social networks. Through growing technology, they have access to a lot of information. It can improve their social skills and attain a lot of data to make good decisions from different sources such as the internet. Sometimes younger know more than their parents to make decisions for themselves. Additionally, young people's self-confidence has increased due to their parents. Most of our parents who were young in the past were not satisfied because of dependence on their families, so they teach their children to be independent people who can make important decisions and face challenges without fearing being looser. Now, there are more powerful young people in society with a lot of impetus that encourages them to stand on their feet. To sum up, young people nowadays are more independent for some reasons. First, they have vast communication with others, especially through the internet, so they have enough information to make decisions, and their parents support them to be independent.
