One of the most important attributes of humans is being generous and humble to each other. These characteristics will help us to stay human. Also, it can improve our sense of empathy. One of the several ways to show our generosity is by giving money, food, and old clothes that we no longer wear. From my standpoint, people today are more passionate about helping each other by doing these favors than people in the past. I have two main reasons to concrete my state, which I explore in the following essay. To begin with, people have a more convenient and accessible life in the modern world. The advances in technology and public awareness made a massive impact on people's lives. Nowadays, basic elements for living, such as a house, food, clothes, and a job, are provided for most people. On the other hand, many people in the past had issues with these kinds of things. For example, many people in my country were homeless and poor in 1950; therefore, each person had to look for themselves and their families. They were not in such a condition to make in-need people their priorities. People at present, however, do not have such problems, so they are able to help others who need help without any concerns. In conclusion, people at present are more willing to do something good for other people. Moreover, there are numerous public and private charities and institutes all over the world. These organizations have been established to provide various things for people who need help. People who do not need their old clothes, devices, and equipment anymore give them to these organizations. Sometimes wealthy people help these organizations by giving them a specific amount of money. Furthermore, the government also contribute to these activities and gives them particular fund annually. For instance, children who have no parents and no place to live have been taken care of by one of these organizations. Nevertheless, these organizations did not exist in the past, or even if they existed, there were not too many of them, and they had not been well developed. Thus, people, today can indirectly help people in need through charities and institutes. To summarize, I agree with the aforementioned statement based on the reasons I discussed in the essay. In my opinion, modern societies have reached higher awareness and comfort, which leads them to have a greater sense of humanity than people in the past.
