Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? People benefit more from traveling in their own country than from traveling to foreign countries. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Traveling has had a significant role in history. Some most critical events occurred due to traveling, for example, the detection of America. Selection of the best travel destination is controversial. While some people believe it is better to travel to nearby places in their own country, others think going to distant destinations such as foreign countries has some beneficial influences for them. Going to foreign countries has more advantages for travelers than traveling in their country. I have a couple of reasons. First, going to a foreign country causes familiarity with their culture. Every country has its own culture, beliefs and tradition. Communication with foreigners is the best way to identify their traditions and opinions about different issues; sometimes, this familiarity can challenge our old views, and as a result of that, we change our lifestyles for the rest of our lives. For example, last year, I went to Africa, and visiting that enormous amount of poverty and hungry children made me anxious after that, I stopped food waste. Additionally, travel to faraway places increases people's self-confidence. In another country, between a lot of strangers, if we face a problem, no one helps us; then we have to defend ourselves alone or solve our problems without asking for help from others. It may seem difficult at first, but after a while, we learn how to protect ourselves from ourselves alone. As a result, we will be independent people who can tolerate every harsh situation. It can improve our self-confidence. To sum up, I personally disagree with the idea that travel in our county is more beneficial. At first, in another country, people can face something that in their county they can not, even if it changes them in some ways. Secondly, traveling to a foreign county, and being far away from family and friends, can make us stronger. Strong people who are not dependent on others have a lot of self-confidence.
