In my view, doing schoolwork and learning together could allow them to build healthy family relationships. In the beginning, completing schoolwork with their parents could make children secure. They could feel unsecure when their parents are too busy to care for them, especially in terms of school life. In my case, doing homework with my mother allowed me to feel assured. Although my mother worked all day long, she spent time checking my assignments, advising me on how to overcome my weak subjects, and practicing my presentation together. These helped me to increase my trust in her and feel her kindness. Indeed, finishing schoolwork together could enhance family relationships. Moreover, learning together also allows parents to acknowledge their children’s learning progress. Constantly checking children’s progress is essential to them helping their children attain higher academic achievements. For instance, my parents always cared for my academic grades. When I possibly got a bad grade, they always prepared for exams together to improve it. Also, I could quickly consult with them when I struggled to understand schoolwork. Their help eventually allowed me to enter one of the prestigious universities in Japan. This episode shows that parents’ doing schoolwork together could aid children in becoming academically successful. Furthermore, doing their homework together would enable children to finish it as soon as possible and enjoy playing with their parents. Under this condition, they are more likely to have fun playing games and sports by their heart. For example, my father first encouraged me to complete my schoolwork and then played sports as a reward. Although he was busy, he always motivated me to engage in my study and played basketball with me. Even now, I appreciate him a lot. Thus, doing schoolwork together could encourage children to complete it rapidly to play with their parents. In conclusion, parents’ completing homework with their children could be essential in building healthy family relationships.
