Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? In my country, young people have better lives than their parents had when they were young. Use reasons and examples to support your answer.

Compared to what life was like a few decades ago, it is safe to say that today, the lives of young people are significantly different than their parents. This contrast is due to number of available resources and the technological advancements. In my opinion, young people do not have better lives than their parents had in the past. The reason why I feel this way is described in subsequent paragraphs. To begin with, in my country, the young population is facing challenges in the professional world. These challenges include , the growing saturation in every industry that is leading to lack of job opportunities. As a result, young adults are either unemployed, considering other career prospects or settling for a job that is hardly allowing them make their ends meet. Speaking from my own experience, I can attest to the fact that the younger generation is struggling few years ago after I completed my house job as a physical therapist, I stepped into the job market. Entering into the professional world made me realize how it is tough to land a well-paid. Upon visiting a number of clinics and hospital, I found that there were hardly any positions for a physical therapist. Even the ones already working at high positions, were willing to offer a position, all because of the increasing number of graduates and limited seats. Seeing how my dream of excelling professionally was less likely to be fulfilled, I decided to pursue my career as a freelance content writer. Since I already had the knack for writing, I was doing pretty well and was able to make my ends meet. Furthermore, the lack of job opportunities has also resulted in the increase of mental health issues. Adults are increasingly suffering from depression or anxiety. This is significantly evident in individuals who have the responsibility of looking after their family. For instance, one of my friends was experiencing mental health issues. He was a bright student, and was always in the good books of professors. However, even with such academic credentials, he was unable to succeed professionally. Engineering being his major in the university, the job market did not help him in any way. With time, he became distant and cut off communication with all of his friends. Multiple factors contributed to his state like the responsibility of caring for parents and lack of source of income. Seeing my lively, outgoing friend becoming a completely different person shows how hard today, times are. In conclusion, today lives for young people is increasingly becoming difficult. They are having a hard time managing their own finances as well as looking after their parents. Compared to our parents, whose lives were much simpler, young individuals are suffering immensely.
