Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? All university students should be required to take history courses no matter what their field of study is. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

The required courses for university students are a well-discussed topic, and history courses are a hot spot among them. Some possess the opinion that history courses should be necessary for every student. I am afraid I have to disagree with this statement, which I will explore in the following essay. The first noteworthy point regarding the issue is history courses are not very important for students in other fields, engineering, and taking them is time-consuming for these students. Engineers should invest their time in improving their communication skills or making their engineering knowledge deeper rather than taking history classes. It could help them to get a better job and be more successful because the demand from them in the workforce attributes to engineering skills rather than history. For instance, my own experience, is compelling about this issue. Three years ago, when I was in college, I had the opportunity to choose between the World War course and the management course. I chose management, which helped me a lot in my job because I have to manage a group of scientists, and the skill which I learned in that course, like planning and prediction, was so fruitful for me. Actually, I was the best in planning in our company. Had I not been successful in my job if I would get that history course which was not helpful for me. Secondly, history classes are not enjoyable for everyone, which triggers the money they invest in university to be eliminated. Nowadays, university courses are too expensive, and students struggle with paying this money. Therefore paying for a course that they do not even like to contribute to is so absurd. For example, My friend, Alice, has a part-time job to pay for the cost of university. She has to work until 2 PM every day, So she does not already have enough time to study. Accordingly, forcing her to enroll in such courses would put more pressure on her. Thereby, I think students should be allowed to choose what they are paying for. In conclusion, I believe history courses should not be required for everyone owing to the fact that they can invest their time in the more valuable activities, and students may not enjoy them, which is a waste of the money that paid for the class.
