The article and the lecturer are both about music classes which may be canceled nowadays due to the difficult economical period. The author of the reading describes three reasons why musical classes are a good choice to cut off. The lecturer casts doubt on each of the theories presented in the article. He thinks that, in fact, musical lessons are drastically important for student's success. First of all, the author states that reducing the number of musical classes increases the steer amount of time which can be used on other more technical subjects like mathimatics. As a result, he notes that it helps students to become more proficient in the future. This point is challenged by the lecturer. He says that musical classes effectively develop childrens mind skills. For example, learning notes fine-tunes abstract thinking. Furthermore, the ability to hear different sound is crucial in understanding spoken languages. Secondly, the author claims that buying instruments is very expensive. He also argues that the other subjects are needed less inventary but produce more knowledge. This arguement is rebbuted by the speaker. He draws attention to the fact that volontier teachers can be found. Moreover, he notes that it is possible to buy new instruments with huge discount or even for free from people who do not want play music anymore. Finally, the author mentions that everyone can not have talent. He is the opinion that investing a lot of money in music classes does not give big returns. The lecturer, on the other hand, feels that playing music makes it easy to express students passion. He puts forth the idea that students can show no interest in the firtst, but they may show the potential further. It is never possible to guess who become new Mozart.
