Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? In the past it was easier to identify what type of career or job would lead to a secure, successful future. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Choosing a job or a career path has always been a very stressful decision for most people. Personally, I believe that it was quite easy for individuals to identify a career or a job opportunity in the past as compared to now. I feel this way for two reasons, which I will explore in the following essay. First of all, people had quite a few career or job opportunities in the past. It was mostly due to a lack of knowledge or awareness. And back then, most people tend to follow the word of mouth rather than taking a distinct path. My personal experience is a compelling illustration of this. I remember, distinctively, when I had to enroll in a course for my undergraduate study, my family members pushed me to choose a major based on what they heard of it from their peers. They argued that taking a class on this would surely help in bagging a good job. However, I felt even though the approach to deciding on a subject wasn't proper, the understanding of the subject helped me a lot in my career. Secondly, job-seekers had to face very little competition to get the job of their dreams. This is primarily because of their inability of taking risks as most resorted to simpler options. For instance, when one of my friends decided to launch her YouTube channel, she did not have to go through a lot of roadblocks. Her only focus was to put out the niche content. Later, she found out that the visibility of her channel went up rapidly. Had she not taken such a risk, she wouldn't be able to lead a successful life. In conclusion, I strongly feel that people had quite an easy time when it comes to taking decisions about their jobs or careers in the past. This is because of limited work opportunities, and there was a significant ease of starting up something new.
