A lot of people believe that internet is one of the best things that happened to humanity solved many of our problems and day to day life issues.However,in my opinion,I believe that internet has turned into a curse for humanity.Usage of internet should be monitored for the following reasons. First of all,internet has no age limits or restrictions as to who is allowed to access it.This is one of the biggest drawbacks of the internet.Young children and teens both have access to internet.There are many people with ill-intentions that pretend to be someone else and lure such young children into their trap.A lot of such cases have happened since the spread of internet all across the globe.For example, the case of Stacy who was missing for 5 years and later found being smuggled to another country.However, parents need to exercise restriction on their children's online activities. Second of all,internet has led to a rise of new type of crime called cyber crimes.These crimes include a vast variety of illegal activities.Some of them are hacking, phishing,cyber-spoofing etc.Hacking is one of the most widely performed cyber crimes.More than 60% percent of the yearly cases deal with hacking.Maximum hacking cases, consist of click bait links being sent to victim's email.As soon as the victim clicks on such links all his laptop details are then visible to the hacker.For example,one of the most famous hacking case is the Cicada 3301.This case had illegal tasks to be performed by hackers which had monetary rewards. Additionally,the internet that the general public use is just the tip of the iceberg.Some agencies use the dark web and the deep web for their illegal activities.Dark web and deep web are places that should not be accessible by common man.Yet,many people are able to access it which has lead to a growth in such activities. In conclusion,internet has its own merits and demerits.Every thing that was or has been created always has a flip side.Internet has been a major downside in ways that humans have been using the internet for the above reasons.
