Whether visiting museums should be regarded as the best way to learn about a country is of great importance to analyze, due to the fact that this issue always has close relationship with learning methods. My view is that visiting museums to learn about a country is indeed not a best choice. First, the reasons of my statement are manifold, chief among which is that, with few explanations showed them, people have no capability to fully understand the meanings of items displayed in showcases alone. Furthermore, it is quite common these days for most museums to charge additional fee for artificial interpretations. For example, in the Chengdu Museum, there are amounts of exhibits placed with few literal explanations. As a result, if I planned to roundly understand cultures behind them, I would pay more for a guide which could be completely avoided by reading alone. Second, from my perspective, another compelling and convincing reason is that information about a city, in most cases, could not be entirely involved or recorded in museums. To some extent, traveling may be a better choice as local cultures could be altogether realized, only after people involved in the local society. One instance will suffice to illustrate this point. For some people who have never visited to Chengdu, this city seems serious because of long history or the sculptures with solemn faces. However, in fact, the citizens in Chengdu are warm and generous which has nothing to do with the exhibits in the museums. Consequently, there is no denying that the method, visiting museums to learn about a city, is totally not a satisfying way, since incomplete interpretation and probable misleading. Based on the argument above, I reiterate my opinion that visiting museums to learn about a country is not the best choice. hello everyone
