Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Parents today are more involved in their children’s education than were parents in the past. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

It is crystal clear that people are more educated now in comparison to the past. Personally, I believe that parents pay more attention to education of their children than they did in the past. I feel this way for two significant reasons, which I will explore in the following essay. To begin with, as in modern societies people link prosperity to their children's educational level, so they put their efforts to make their children more educated. In this situation, schools and academic institutions play a vital role, so they try to connect "success" and "education", which are totally two different concepts in order to increase their profit. They invest more money in advertising and create this link between success and education. Secondly, as people in the past were mostly uneducated, they were reluctant to pay much attention to their children's education. They believed that education is a fantasy skill which is confined to the royal family and wealthy people; As a result, they were teaching other skills to their children. My personal experience is a compelling illustration of this. My father told me when he was 15 his father tried to teach farming and other skills to him. This paradigm among people leads to a decrease in the number of educated people and also the education quality all over the world. In conclusion, I strongly believe that the attention of people to their children's educational condition is much more than before. This is because they see a strong connection between education and success and because in the past people tried to teach other skills to their children.
