Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? When doing research, it is better to use printed materials such as books and articles than it is to use the internet.

Accessing almost every data in just a click is what humanity has been looking for in these recent years. They achieved this goal, and we call it the internet. I personally think that while doing research, the most important thing is to use updated data. This is only possible when using the internet. I think this way for several reasons, which I will explore in the following essay. To begin with, I think that using the internet will help researchers to assess their work more confidently. In universities, it is essential to add recently published data from journals, conference article statements, and data included in online book chapters. My life experience is a compelling example of this. While studying for a bachelor's degree in biology, I used to search the internet and find new topics considered as edges of science. Those were my favorite topics. I usually tend to assess my work with online sites which provide grammar suggestions and spelling checkers. Therefore, I could evaluate my work and then hand it to my professor. Furthermore, the internet can help scientists learn precisely what they want in the fastest and most reliable way. When a scientist is trying to write a paper about a new topic, he would probably need to search for terminology and facts that are newly discovered in that specific area. In this case, the internet will be more beneficial than paper references. For instance, in my last two years of university, I have written several articles on human brain tissue, gut microbiome, and the human gut-brain axis. With the internet’s help, I searched for the most simplified educational courses and read almost 200 articles in these fields to understand them better. I watched videos when I needed help with some papers. I learned how to use software to illustrate my work and analyze my data. In conclusion, I strongly feel that the internet is an accelerator in every work a scientist might be interested in doing. Additionally, it will delete all the limitations some might struggle with. This is because everybody from around the world can access data from the internet and learn what they need to succeed.
