Helping other people have been a part of every culture. Whether people like to help others compared to the past is a controversial subject. In my opinion, people are more willing to help people that they do not know than they were in the past. I believe this way for two reasons which I will explore in what follows. To begin with, because of social media, people can know that other people have some difficulties in their life and will help them. My personal experience is a great example of this subject. A month ago, there was an earthquak in one of the cities of my country ,and there were a lot of pictures of their situations and difficulties on social media like Instagram. So, by seeing those photos, I realize that people in that city have serious problems and I helped them by giving some of my clothes to a charity .I would not have helped them without knowing their situations on Instagram. Moreover, today, there are more rich people than they were in the past. To state it more clearly, in the past, most families have too many kids and parents could only buy food or clothes for their own children. While, nowadays, a few families have more than two kids so,it is easier for them to help others especially people that they do not know. For instance, my grandfather grew up in a large family; he had 7 brothers and 4 sisters;Once, he told me that buying new clothes was something unusual in their family and most of the time younger children had to wear their older siblings old clothes. As a result, helping in that situation was impossible for most families. To conclude, nowadays, people are more willing to help people they do not know. This is because social media shows poor people or people who are in difficulties to other people. And more families are rich than they were in the past.
