In the contemporary era, movies and television are playing a vital role in the life of people. A certain segment of individuals believes that the disadvantages of the media outweigh its disadvantages while others dispute this claim. To the best of my knowledge, media has both plus points and drawbacks and its pros are significantly effective in young people’s life. I feel this way for two main reasons as follows; 1) many academic channels are available for everyone. 2) It helps societies to learn about different cultures. First and foremost, television programs have been watched for many years in numerous countries all around the world. Although some programs may have detrimental effects on adults’ behavior, many beneficial programs are conducted for different classes of society too. Moreover, it has a wide range of shows and series about technology, science, psychology, cooking, astronomy, and social communication which young people can learn many new things from them. My own experience is a compelling example of this. When I traveled to Spain as a student, I could not cook anything well enough to eat. I was really busy searching the net for recipes. I came across a TV show called “easily cooked meals” and I started following the show every day. Surprisingly, now I am mastered at cooking a variety of Spanish meals and my friends love my meals. For this reason, TV shows have many useful series too. If I did not watch the cooking program, I would not be able to even make a simple snack for myself. On the other hand, adults are exposed to various TV series and documentary programs. If they spend their time watching appropriate documentaries about countries, they would get familiar with many cultures and languages around the world. Furthermore, it might broaden their horizons without traveling to many places. Additionally, that would extremely help them to be open-minded and use their knowledge taking a trip to other regions. Drawing from my own experience, I love to watch documentaries with my mother who is a fan of these kinds of shows. I have seen that in India everybody should respect cows because they are praised by some people. I went to India with my sister by accident. While we were crossing the road from a populated street, a huge cow came in the middle of the street. There was a foreigner who was yelling and saying bad words to the animal. After a while, the police arrested the man. If he knew that he should have respected the animal, he would not be convicted. It is clear why TV shows play a crucial role in our updated knowledge. To make the long story short, media has pros and cons on adults’ behavior and it has positive effects on their knowledge and education. They will learn new things, and also they will get familiar with other cultures.
