Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? It is more important for governments to spend money to improve Internet access than to improve public transportation.
Public transportation and internet access are two of the most significant issues in the world. In my opinion, it is impossible to compare these two, and I think the progress in both technologies should be simultaneous. However, it seems like the same progress could be made by lower investment in the Internet than transport system. So I disagree with the statement.
Internet is a distinguishable way of reaching people in a pretty impressive time, while public transport does not meet this pace. However, when we mention reaching people, we probably want to meet them in person. Online meetings cannot fulfill your desire to hug a beloved person; your passion for touch cannot be sent using internet.
In these past two years, governments dealt with the urge for high-speed internet to rule the country. During the Covid-19 quarantine, almost everybody had to deal with social distancing, thus they needed internet to be in touch. We are people, and we need each other in order to be happy. These can demonstrate the importance of high-accessible internet around the world. Also, internet is necessary for distant workings and online educational needs. If people were able to do their stuff at home, they probably wouldn't choose to walk to the department of health, and they will stay home instead. Which can contribute to traffic waves.
Public transport is the key to building a better city. In a well-developed country, it is essential that people can reach their destination easily and one of the most disturbing barriers could be traffic. Traffic could be a real misfortune if you have an emergency situation or an ambulance needs to arrive hospital. Public transport not only can drastically decrease traffic, but it also will reduce air pollution. Single-passenger cars are the killers. They use up almost the same fuel and factually the exact space, but they carry only one person.
To conclude, I guess we need a relatively cleaner world to breathe and live in. So no matter the expenses, The critical Idea is to get work done. Whether it is gonna take more money to build a railway or to connect a village to internet. All of them should happen.
