In some countries, the number of shootings increase because many people have guns at home. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Give specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

There are a lot of reasons that motivate people to have a shotgun at home, such as a dangerous neighborhood, keeping expensive objects such as jewelry and money. The final objective is to guarantee the security of the family and the objects, but it is not what really happens often. So I believe that if a country's population has more guns, society has less safety. First of all, the presence of guns at home can offer a risk for children, who do not have the notion of their dangers. Some people argue that the gun can stay locked and far away from where a child may find it, but if it is too hard to get the gun, what to do when your house is invaded by thieves and you have to unlock the gun vessel in a few seconds? Also, a lot of shootings in schools and cinemas by teenagers are made using guns stored at home. Besides that, the security of a house can be improved with modern lockers and security cameras that do not offer any risk to people's safety. The guns are better used in the hand of police cups, who have the special preparation to use them, when necessary. The technology allows the use of presence detectors with infrared rays that can be used to call the police and lock people inside home until they arrive. In the sense of being protected inside home, a panic room is more useful then a gun. Finally, the presence of a gun inside home just increase violence and the number of shooting, the best place to have a gun is with someone that is prepared for their whole life to use and will not fall in the wrong hands. Society needs to avoid increasing the number of dangerous objects in people's hands.
