Imagine that you are in a classroom or a meeting. The teacher or the meeting leader says something incorrect. In your opinion, which of the following is the best thing to do? — Interrupt and correct the mistake right away. — Wait until the class or meeting is over and the people are gone, and then talk to the teacher or meeting leader. — Say nothing. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
Nowadays most of the people have exprienced educational life or at least they have attended meetings with different subjects. Therefore we all have been in a situaton that lecturer or teacher made a mistake, and we did not know how to react. I suggest interupting and correcting the mistake right away is the best thing to do in these kind of situations.
To begin with, although it would seems rude to correct someone who has higher knowledge than you, I believe we could do this in a polite way. My first reason for chosing this option is that if we do not correct their mistake, other students or attenders might have face problems later. Due to the false information, they would gain wrong proficiency. Based on my own experience, last semester, during one of my classes, the proffesor made a mistake and I wrote that in my notebook. Immediately one of the students correct him so I revise my booklet. If the student had not interupt the teacher and talked to him after the class, I probably would learn something wrong and that could affected my final grade.
Furthermore, whether the mistake is nonsignificant or not, replacing false information of educational knowledge with correct forms, is considerably difficult. I assume when you learn something and also write it down somewhere, that would be hard to accept that your underestanding of the concept is not correct. Your brain has difficulty to change the things learned with new data. According to a research, studying two groups of people, one have no awareness about some birds way of hunting, and other have false information, the first group has learn the topic far better. Researches explain the topic of hunter birds to both group, and they illustrate that second group face so much difficulties with learning, however the first group did very well.
All in all, I claim if our teacher says something wrong, we must know our duty to correct her mistake In order not to mislead others and also, prevent others from confronting affliction with learning in the future.
