Many people visit museums when they travel to new places. Why do you think people visit museums? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

When we go to a new place, visiting the museums there has always been an important part of our plan. Museums are the background of every city or country's culture. Most people, when they go to a new place assign one of the days that they are traveling, to go to the museums for two important reasons. First, they get pieces of information about the city or countries' cultures, because,in every museum in the world, there are some important symbols of their history and culture. For example, when I went to Malaysia and Singapore last year, on one of the days of our trip, we went to many famous museums. There, I gathered a lot of information about the history and many well-known people who were efficient for not only their country but also for the world. Everything in the museum originated from the cultural and historical background of the city. Second, it is very amusing to visit museums in new places, and we can definitely keep one day of our travel to see these places. For instance, when I was at university in Tehran, our history teacher planned an educational visit to one of the famous and best museums in Tehran. It was a memorable day of my life because I spend a beautiful day with all my classmates and our teacher explained important things about the coins, carpets, and paintings that were in that museum. I remember that he explained in detail about each and everything in the museum. Just we could not take any photographs of that museum because in most museums photography is prohibited. In conclusion, we may say that visiting museums for information about that city or country will leave the travelers in awe.
