Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? At universities and colleges, sports and social activities are just as important as classes and libraries and should receive equal financial support. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
The fields that university should devote to their money is always a debatable issue. There are different ways universities can spend their budgets, and it is a significant decision that the university's governors must consider. While some people think that just scientific fields are important and have beneficial effects on students' future, others, on the other hand, believe that social activities such as sports have the same value. I think universities and colleges should consider social activities equal to classes. I have a couple of reasons for that. First, participation in social clubs can improve students' physical and mental health. There are many different clubs in university, and by improving these club's situations, universities can encourage students to join them, which has some advantages for students. In some clubs, students participate in debates and interact with others with lots in common; it can refresh their minds, and students will relax by being away from classes or libraries. Also, students can join a sports club. By ordered exercising, they can boost their metabolism, and as a result of that, they can enhance their physical health. Additionally, a university can make more money by spending money on increasing social activities facilities. Top students attract to universities with high facilities. At first, they compare the university's scientific ranking. After that, the campus's clubs or gym situation are compared, and they apply for the best one. So a university or college with more equipment can encourage more top students to apply and pay tuition fees. Even universities can increase their fees due to their high facilities. It can be a good source of more income. To sum up, social activities and clubs are worthwhile. Colleges and universities must pay the same amount of attention to both. Because students can improve their health by participating in clubs and healthy students are so beneficial for society. Also, universities can attract more new students through their high facilities, which can be a revenue source.
