Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Young people today have no influence on the important decisions that determine the future of society as a whole. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
When we look at the pillars that every society is built upon, the presence of the young generation of every population and the impacts that they have on the formation of the society is indisputable. I personally disagree with the statement that young people have no influence on the critical decisions that will overall constitute the future of a community and moreover, I will bring two reasons to support my opinion. First of all, I think we all can agree that the young generation of every society will eventually replace the working population in every country. After all, people get old and lose their functionality; and even if they don't lose their productivity due to old age, death is inevitable and sometimes they have to relinquish their positions. The young generation of every population is full of potential, energetic and motivated. They will study and research to solve problems and make the future a better place to live whether we want it or not because they are also living in the society that the elders have developed and they know their society's flaws and advantages better than anybody else. As a result, they will detect the problem faster and will come up with a functional solution. The second reason is that nowadays we have more access to information in compare with the older times. We have all sorts of information at the tip of our fingers thanks to the advancements of technology and the amenity it has brought with it. In addition, people are more in touch with each other because of the prevalent usage of social media and internet. In fact, more awareness is shared every day among people. And when people are constantly exposed to the problems their community has, they tend to get more involved and care more. When the population of society starts to think in a constructive way, problem-solving becomes easier and faster and the future becomes bright. Although many people might not have a comprehensive opinion about the influence of the young generation on the future as I do, I believe if we change our perspectives and start thinking more deeply, we can see that the future is indeed in the hands of the young generation and we, as adults, have responsibilities to educate them and prepare them for the hardships they might face in the future.
