Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Visiting museums is the best way to learn about a country. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Over the last few decades, people travel around the world and visit many countries and try to get information about multiple cultures. Some believe visiting museums is the best way to learn about a country. In my opinion, museums are not a valid source for this purpose. I feel this way for two main reasons, which I will explore in the following essay. To begin with, museums have been filled with historical evidence about a country’s past. I mean some of them may be more than thousands of years old. Obviously, many things change over such a long time. For example, Egypt is an ancient country with many tombs, mummies, and sculptures. All of this historical stuff represents the history of Egypt, these show how Egypt’s people thought in the past, what they believed and how they lived. However new Egypt is so different from its past. Up to the point, Egyptians' beliefs, religions, and lifestyles have changed a lot through thousands of years and they do not think similar to their ancestors. They do not make any monuments or embalm their dead as they used to in the past. What I mean is, if we want to learn about a county, we need to consider its presence. The history of a country does not include any information about its present. Furthermore, governments change over time. What can be seen in the museum is about the past sovereigns. To illustrate, take Egypt again, thousands of years ago, it was an authoritarian empire with extended boundaries which cover the whole Nile and a powerful economic system containing lots of merchants. Although, now it is just a small weak country with poor people. Most of Egypt’s population is poverty. In this case, the Egypt government cannot even afford the costs of excavating ancient monuments. Subsequently, visiting Egypt’s museums does not show the real face of present Egypt. In conclusion, I strongly believe that if people want to learn about a county, museums are not a valid source. They only include past information and do not say anything about the country now. This is because people's lifestyles, beliefs, and religions change, as well as governmental and economical changes over time.
