Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Educating children is a more difficult task today that it was in the past because they spend so much time on cell phone, online games, and social networking websites. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

There are lots of conflicts on the difficulties of educating children nowadays compared to the past. To me, I admit that educating children in the present day is more difficult than in the past. There are some reasons for me to hold this idea, which I am to explain herein. To begin with, one of the main reasons that educating children nowadays is more difficult is that children have access to cell phones, online games, and social networking websites. In fact, these are distractors for the children because they do not know how to use the technology, and they misuse it. For instance, my nephew Ahmad is a ten-year-old boy. He got used to playing different video games online with his friends and this is taking almost his whole day. Sometimes he forgets that he also has some homework to do. This is why I believe technology is a distractor for children these days. Secondly, Social media and online games have an addicting effect on people, especially, children. When a child plays an online game, he psychologically gets involved in it and keeps thinking about it, even when he/she is not playing. This psychological effect causes the children to lose focus during study time. Again my nephew is a great example of my claim. I remember every time his parents finally manage to convince him to quit the game and begin studying, he acts and produces some voices like the car sound or firing sound in the game as he is writing in his notebook. I am sure he cannot focus on learning new things this way, and it is all because of cell phones and technology. In conclusion, I agree that education is a more difficult task now than it was in the past. Because currently the internet, cell phone, and other technological advances are the main barriers on the way of children's education. Consequently, I suggest everyone control their children and keep them away from these instruments.
