Some young children spend a great amount of their time practicing sports. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of this. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

No one can deny that there are both positive and negative aspects of practicing sports at young age. In my opinion, children who spend a lot of their free time on sport activities benefit from that. It is my belief that doing sport is better for several reasons, and I will elaborate on these ideas in subsequent paragraphs. To begin with, sport might be an effective social lift for many children from impoverished regions of the world. I have to admit that my opinion on this matter has been profoundly influenced by my own personal experience. My friend Victor started to attend a football section at the age of 7. His parents were impecunious people, who couldn't even afford to buy their child a professional ball. Despite that, Victor's interest in football was only increasing. He was spending hours training in the football club during the day, even skipping the lessons in the school. In the evenings, he was analysing professional games and reading books, so that he could perceive prevalent tactics and strategies of this game. Eventually, Victor received the highest returns from his hobby: he became a professional football player who earns a large salary and is completely satified with his life. He remembers his poverty with tears. Recently he bought a lot of professional equipment for orphans in order to encourage them to do sport more actively. This example clearly illustrates that spending your time on sport at young age might have positive effect on your future life. Secondly, sport exercises fortify children will and make them more strong, earnest and competitive. Drawing from my own experience, when I was seven, my parrents suggested that I should start attending swimming section. In the beginning, I was too lazy and didn't want to do that. I used to like playing computer games more than any other activity. However, gradually I had been feeling that I enjoy doing sport more and more. I became a very competitive person, who is always open to challenges and has great leadership skills. I think these personal features allowed me to find a job that I like. I work as a quantitative trader now and really appreciate my job. I am very thankful to my parents who made this important decision, that implicitly played such a huge role in my life. In light of the reasons mentioned, I strongly believe that practicing sport at young age is better because it allows children to become stronger and healthier, and, furthermore, sometimes sport might be a social lift for the children from poor families.
