Workers are more satisfied when they have many different types of tasks to do during the workday than when they do similar tasks all day long.
Nowadays, the competition between companies has grown, and as employees are in charge of the efficiency of the work, companies must boost the satisfaction of jobs. While I do believe that some people feel better when they do the same task all day long, In my judgment completing different tasks can be less boring, and consequently can be more efficient.
First, doing the same job all day can be very boring for workers. It is crystal clear that when employees concentrate on a job they enjoy they won’t sense the time spent on work, and it can be an important achievement. Hence, by reducing boring time, companies can obtain great achievements. For instance, I used to work as a web developer and my task was to build samples of forums all day long. After a while, I realized that there was nothing more I could learn and evolve in my sphere, and I had no enthusiasm of continuing to endure that situation. As a result, I decided to abandon that job, finally. Therefore, if companies desire to obtain efficiency, they should include multiple tasks in the employee’s workplace.
Secondly, by doing multiple functions all day long, all members will have different experiences, and cooperating with each other, can be crucial when facing an obstacle in the process. In fact, members of staff will enjoy more if they are able to easily solve problems, without stress. To give an instance, my cousin is working at Google as a software engineer, and he always states that “Though I earn a little money, It was essential for me to find a job where all the members will cooperate with each other and make decisions together.”
To sum it all up, I stably believe that employees are more satisfied by doing multiple tasks all day long. It is less boring and more efficient.
