Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Educating children is a more difficult task today than it was in the past because they spend so much time on cell phone, online games, and social networking Web site.
In the mechanized era, technology is advancing at a galloping rate and has become a fundamental component in humans’ daily lives as well as students', and so, students are more engaged in technological means than other social individuals. The effects of technology on society can be approached from different angles, but one of the most important of them is education. Some argue that technology has a positive impact on education. Besides this assertion, I have an opponent's point of view. I will next discuss some salient points that motivate me to take that view.
Getting distracted is the first issue that requires careful examination in accordance with the declared topic. Today, one of the most important technological advancement outputs is social networks, and students spend much of their spare time on these. As a result of their involvement with social networks, students are not readily able to discuss and propagate their thoughts and beliefs with their kind due to less interaction. Therefore, there has been a gradual decline in their thinking skills and their learning abilities have fallen. Furthermore, students are the driving force of a country, and if a striving and thinking spirit did not exist among them, this country could not pass the peaks of progress. For instance, a couple of years ago, when Facebook became famous, I spent much of my free time on it, and literally, I got addicted, so in those years my grades dropped dramatically. Consequently, technological equipment is not only not useful but also has detrimental effects on students' learning abilities.
The second aspect of the current discussion that comes to my mind is less innovation. Many technology-based games and activities are "pre-made" and allow individuals to complete the steps on their own without having to problem solve in creative and imaginative ways. As a result of these kinds of habits, the students’ minds are confined and, therefore, they are not able to solve the problems in their schools in ordinary ways. In the past, there were no such things as video games, and most students spent their time on additional learning activities and doing creative activities, so, as we see, most of the breakthroughs in science have happened in the past. Furthermore, all countries have relied on domestically innovative minds to advance in the industry; if a country's students behave in a way that causes them to lose their creativity, that country will undoubtedly lose its global position and become dependent. As a result, video games are detrimental to students’ minds.
To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons.
