Some people believe that when busy parents do not have a lot of time to spend with their children, the best use of that time is to have fun playing games or sports. Others believe that it is best to use that time doing things together that are related to schoolwork. Which of the two approaches do you prefer? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

In the last century, parents have played a significant role in children’s lives by encouraging and motivating them to learn. They have always been so concerned about their children that they forgot about themselves. These are all either intrinsic and due to their nature or because of civilization and experience. With that being said, some people believe that busy parents should help children do their homework in their free time; however, in my opinion, they should play games or sports with their children, which is the best use of their time. In what follows, I will elaborate on my viewpoints by providing specific reasons and examples. First and foremost, playing games and sports could enhance the relationship between parents and children. To put it differently, involvement in playing with family members leads to having a funny and friendly time, which strengthens the bond between them. Indeed, owing to a strong relationship, parents can support their children through every thick and thin in their life. The results of a study conducted in my country indicate that more than half of the young people who could tackle their problems and overcome hurdles in the best way had a strong relationship with their parents. In such cases, they usually were being a member of a close-knit family which established during the childhood period by means of playing games and sports. As a result of that, playing during childhood lead to having a healthy relationship with their parents, which could help youth confront their problems. Furthermore, since children are likely to learn many things during childhood, parents could teach them useful skills by choosing and participating in a suitable game. In other words, playing games or sports is a joyful activity for children, and they spend a lot of time in it. Hence, parents could teach their children practical skills like social skills, including independence, communication with others, and responsibility through playing. Take my personal experience as a compelling example; I remember that when I was seven years old, my parents played with me every day for two hours. They usually chose the Monopoly game, a mentally challenging team competition. In this play, I was involved in managing money and deliberation with other players. After a while, I understood how to save money and communicate with others by playing the game gradually. If I had not played with my family during childhood and not been involved with the play, I would not have learned independence in my personal and professional life, which led to a satisfying and delightful life. In conclusion, not only could playing games and sports enhance the relationship between family members, but it could also be a suitable option for parents to teach their children valuable skills. I strongly suggest that parents play with their offspring in their free time.
