Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? A mother is more essential to a child’s upbringing than a father. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Parents play the most important role in the life of a child. From the very first seconds of life, they care and protect with endless love and support. Well, I would disagree with this statement. It is absolutely not making sense to undervalue the role of the father, or any of the parents, to highlight the role or the essence of the other parent. First of all, in most societies both parents share the responsibility to raise their child, no matter it's a mother and father, fathers, mothers or parent 1 and parent 2. This includes taking care of expenses and often equally sharing not only the finances, but any other duty, interchangeably or handling the types of duties by interest or proficiency. I don't see any legitimate way to think, that one of them plays more essential role for a kid. Furthermore, sometimes, unfortunately, one of the parents is not participating in raising a kid. There can be many reasons for that - most of us instantly picture a single mother. Well, because there are more single mothers than single fathers, statistically. At the same time, I believe, those fathers who raise their children alone, without the contribution of another parent, love them and take care of'em not less than any other parent. All in all, I disagree with the statement that the mother is more essential to a child's upbringing. I believe that any parent is essential, as long as he/she/they shares love and supports the children.
