Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Providing Internet access is just as important as other services, such as building roads, so governments should offer Internet access to all of their citizens at no cost. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
In this day and age the Internet is the basic tool for any activity people can imagine. It does make it possible for people to have fun as well as gain needed information as much as it's wanted by humanity. Sadly, there are people who don't have the required financial status to afford the Internet. Consequently, those people are so oblivious and can easily become a victim of propaganda against their government. Therefore, in order to avoid having a poor-minded population the governments should offer Internet access to all of their citizens at no cost. That's in the view of the fact that having internet access spread all over the country will be beneficial both for the government and its citizens. My justifications are provided in this essay. At first glance, providing a service for free seems unfair and non beneficial for the government, since they do the job but don't get paid for it. However, in the case of looking at this situation from another angle, its advantages will be obvious. The core of making a successful country is in having an educated and open-minded population. I believe that the Internet is what can create the needed environment for a good government and a country, since it has a variety of platforms to gain knowledge from. I'll provide an example to illustrate how the Internet can provide the government with an opportunity to create an educated public. Estonia is a European country, which apparently has become a model for free and open internet access. As a result of this great innovation in their country they became the world’s most advanced digital society. I believe that Estonia should be exemplary to the rest of the countries. Additionally, one can't live without any activities or people to have discussions with especially, in the twenty first century. That's in the view of the fact that a life with no interests is dull. As well as in the previous case, here the Internet again is what can assist the people. The Internet makes it possible both to keep in touch with people who are in a long way from us and to discover a lot of new appealing creatures. Therefore, having free access to the Internet will end up with having people happy due to the ability to do what meets their desires for free. A compelling example of this is the story of my friend who lives in a country where the Internet is available in every corner. Even though she's far from her native friends, she has the opportunity to keep in touch with them. Moreover, she does share her favorite subjects on social media as well. To sum up all the above mentioned reasons and examples, the Internet is a great tool in our century, which should be offered to humanity at no cost. That's for the reason that both the governments and people benefit from it by doing what they love and gaining new knowledge.
