Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Young people nowadays do not give enough time to helping their communities. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

The common discussion about young people these days is that they do not give a sufficient amount of time spent to help the community around. Personally, I agree with this statement. I feel this way for two reasons which I will be exploring in the following essay. First of all, the youths do not have enough spare time for the other tasks since they are already fully loaded with their studies, homework, assignments, and other kinds of school projects. Compared to the past, it is obvious that most parents urge to force today's students to study hard in order to gain excellent grades and to get admission to the top universities. Consequently, the students tend to pay less attention to the society they are living in. My personal experience is a compelling illustration of this. I remember when I was in high school, I studied at least eight hours a day after coming back from school. Thus, I totally did not know what was happening in my environment or the updates in the society. All I was interested in was my GPA. So, I could fully understand the students' points of view. That is why people should not judge the students early and should have sympathy for their hard life. Secondly, it is the edging technology such as the internet that the young people mostly spend their hours instead of supporting in their social circle. Due to the addictive character of modern online games, youths get so attached that they end up playing them too much. As a result, it eventually leads to forgetting the other pieces of stuff and duties they are assigned for. For this reason, young people become so distant from the neighborhood work. All in all, the adults were the youths once in the past. Therefore, they should deeply consider the youths' shoes before making any one-sided judgment. The young people also have their own struggles and a variety of causes why they have an insufficient amount of time to aid the community.
