Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The most effective way for the government to conserve energy is to increase the price of gasoline and electricity. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

It is controversial whether the most effective method for the government to conserve energy is to increase the cost of gasoline and electricity. Some people might think that increment the price of electricity is the best way to preserve energy because people nowadays go too far for money saving. I, however, completely disagree with the statement. I feel this way for two main reasons, and I will develop these ideas in the subsequent paragraphs. To begin with, coming up with alternative energy is much better for saving energy. Nowadays, heterogeneous kinds of alternative energy are devising by many scientists of electric fields. In 2021, the Ireland energy laboratory carried out an experience about the effectiveness of alternative energy with 300 people in a town. The subjects were divided into two groups using either alternative energy nor gasoline and electricity. The first group used wind power energy as the alternative energy. On the other hand, the second group exploited the same energy that they used before. Both of the teams used exactly the same amount of energy. As a result, it obviously came out that using wind energy as the alternative energy, the former group could save more than 70 percent compared to the latter group. This consequence based on the experience shows that the government should provide alternative energy to use to citizens to save energy. Last but not the least, the majority of people will still be using energy resources despite the growth of price. Electricity and gasoline are essential part of our lives, which not only enrich but also facilitate our lives in many aspects. For example, approximately two years ago, the government in our town proposed to increase costs of gasoline and electricity to conserve energy. Indeed, the government increased the cost a lot. However, the decision of the government had almost no effect on the consumption of the energy. Since, almost all citizens in the towns needed electricity to maintain their lives. Therefore, no one even tried to decrease the exploitation of gasoline rather, they cut down on buying groceries. As a popular belief, humans need electricity and gasoline to drive a car, study, take a shower and use the internet. This familiar example indicates that electricity already has become significant that consumption of it will not decrease that easily. To summarize, I definitely disagree with the statement for two reasons. First off, advent of alternative energy will be a much better alternation.
