“Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? People should not be allowed to use mobile (cell) phones when they use public transportation (e.g. buses, trains, and airplanes). Use specific examples to support your answer.”

It is controversial whether people should not be allowed to use mobile phones when they use public transportation. Some people might disagree with the statement because passengers might feel bored when riding it. I, however, completely agree with the following statement. I feel this way for two main reasons, and I will develop these ideas in the subsequent paragraphs. To begin with, using telephones in public transportations will disturb other passengers. Generally, talking on cell phones is absolutely impossible not to reveal people’s privacy. In 2021, the Seoul transportation system laboratory carried out an experience with 50 passengers in two transportations including airplane and subway. Passengers in the subway are allowed to use their mobile phones while the other passengers in the airplane were not allowed. The passengers in the former transportation could neither take rest nor not annoyed by the passengers who are clinging to using their phones. They kept on calling up to their friends and watched noisy videos without earphones. Contrarily, the people in the latter transportation could arrive at their destination without any bothering or disturbance. Indeed, none of the passengers imposed others. This experience shows that people riding in the transport where phones are not allowed can make their self at transportations. On top of that, a reason to restrict cell phones on public transportation is to avoid safety hazards. Getting on a public conveyance, people fundamentally trust the drivers. Nowadays, signals from cell phones and vehicles like buses are quite similar. Furthermore, bus drivers might be confused with the signal from buses and mobile phones. For instance, back 3 years, I had a transportation accident when I was going to school. I used to ride public buses going to the schools. Some passengers on the bus were chatting and calling using their phones. In fact, the signals from the phones were not only noisy but also similar to the bus’s horn. Therefore, the driver was distracted by the bus system signal and the phone signals. He thought that he was able to drive forward on the highway and he really did it. The bus bumped with the bus in the front. Many people on the bus got injured. It was an accident that could have led to deaths. This accident shows that the sounds of mobile phones can disturb drivers. To summarize, there is no reason to disagree with the statement. Using cell phones in public transportations will not only bother other passengers but also interrupt drivers that could even bring about safety dangers.
