Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? It is better for children to choose jobs that are similar to their parents' jobs than to choose jobs that are very different from their parents' jobs. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
One of the most essential issues that each child has to take up is orientating on a major. Some people opt for the idea that children would better take up the same job as their parents do. However, others have opposite attitude toward this concern. I myself believe that if a child takes an interest in parent’s job, it would be a proper gateway for them to a prosperous career and also it would enhance their living conditions as a whole. I believe so, as first of all parents could assist and guide their children, moreover children could gain significant amount of experience before totally being involved in the working process. First and foremost, parents always try to do their best for children and as they have already shaped adequate amount of knowledge concerning certain jobs, they could successfully guide a child and assist them overcoming all troubles. Generally speaking, discussing problems and trying to find productive solutions with parents in cozy atmosphere is much more appealing for youngsters, than having complicated debates with professors or managers. Take my friend as an example, since the university years he has been capable of coping with all the issues that he has encountered thanks to her mother who is an architect as we are. Besides, after graduating he effortlessly got a job in his mother’s office. Consequently, the access to a decent career is easily available when parents have similar jobs as they have previously encountered similar situations. Furthermore, children who are keen on pursuing their parents’ career can make use of a valuable chance to learn lessons from their mistakes. While, other children who do not have assistant-specialist in their major, have to cram during the studies and wade through all the materials, even those, that are often irrelevant to their major. On the other hand, those who have the same job as their parents are likely to be guaranteed from suchlike situations. To illustrate, my little sister decided to continue my father’s business and run a grocery store. Now she is taking a part-time job at our grocery store and every evening she and my father discuss all the hassles that they come across at business. For this reason, parents could encourage children to follow the track of their own career. To sum up we can come to the conclusion that based on the assumptions mentioned above pursuing parents’ job is worthy for children and can ensure them more hassle-free career ladder.
