Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Parents today are more involved in their children's education than parents were in the past. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
In this day and age this world is getting more competitive and in order to survive people are keen on improving their knowledge. As a consequence, most people believe that parents are totally involved in their children’s education in order to assist them to focus on studying process. On the other hand, a group of people hold the opposite opinion. I suppose the idea that modern parents participate in children’s career path is mainly because of the fact that first of all nowadays parents possess broad horizons, so they do their best for their children to be like them. Moreover, due to extensive accessibility of all modern gadgets and their negative impact on kids, parents have to step in in orientating children in studies. First and foremost, modern parents are much more educated than the previous generation was. In terms of this, parents expect youngsters to take after them. As a matter of fact, on the whole, in this era having higher education is a fundamental aspect for current people as it guarantees well off future life. Take my aunt as an instance, after finishing high school she chose to make money by working in the local market, instead of applying to a university. In spite of the fact that she made a great mistake by being keen on making money, at that time her parents did not make her change her mind. Therefore, modern parents tend to be fully engaged in children’s studying process, with the purpose of ensuring their children’s success in the future. Furthermore, frequently saying, in this age even adults are addicted by modern devices and the youngsters are not exception. According to me, current children could spend all their time on meaningless computer games by not noticing anything else in their surroundings. For this reason, parents automatically have to control their children’s home assignment and be part of this routine as they want their children to possess adequate amount of knowledge. For example, my cousin was completely fascinated by her new PlayStation and she used to play it for hours. As she was accustomed to that behavior, her mother had to limit time spending on games and instead of it my cousin took up additional classes in foreign languages in order to improve language skills. Hence, as modern children are appealed by computer games, parents have to control their schedules and be engrossed into children’s education process. To sum up we can come to the conclusion that based on the beliefs mentioned above, parents nowadays involuntarily take part in their children’s education in token of a comfortable future.
