Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Technology has made children less creative than they were in the past. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
In this day and age technology has a great influence on children’s lives. From my point of view, children have become more creative and imaginative thanks to technological advances. Therefore, I disagree with the statement that machinery negatively affects children’s creativity because today they have a chance to be more knowledgeable and skilled, as well as they are stimulated to learn. What's more, children differ from their older family members in their creative thinking thanks to modern automation. First of all, nowadays, children have more opportunities to gain worthwhile knowledge and skills. In fact, technological development assists them to increase their mental abilities. To illustrate this, computers and the Internet are used in children’s learning process. As teachers’ time is limited during the lessons children can obtain (attain) more interesting and valuable information about the topic which is discussed. Through this process, children cultivate the ability to look for the necessary information from the Internet. Hence, up-to-date automation stimulates children to enhance their knowledge and mental abilities which is the basis of creative thinking. Moreover, automation enables teachers to motivate children in schools. The availability of new equipment makes it easier and more productive the process of transferring the necessary material. For instance, a teacher uses slide shows to highlight the essential points of a topic. I believe, this specific method is so appropriate and effective that children can enjoy their classes. Thus, the contemporary technique is an excellent tool for shaping a child’s comprehensive thinking. Last but not least, in modern society, the young generation is much more developed and skillful than the elderly ones. It goes without saying that the usage of technology is beneficial for children. In this case, we can see a child guiding his/her parents or grandparents into the application of any gadget. This is an obvious example of a child’s creativity and distinguishing thinking. In other words, technological development brings about outstanding and positive changes in children’s imagination. To sum up we can come to the conclusion that technology enhances the advances of children’s knowledgeable and skillful imagination, motivates them to be more creative, and generates visible differences from older generations.
