Imagine that your city government has given permission for a major company to build a large factory near your neighborhood. Do you think this is a good idea? Why or why not? Explain your position using specific reasons and examples.

In my opinion, we have to consider whether the city goverment has gotten a consensus from the residents. If this step is completed, that means most citizens has already agreed that it is not harmful for their ways of life. A big factory doesn't imply that its working process to produce a product will endanger the surrounding environment or even people's lives. It might create lots of business growth for the area. For example, the factory, which assembles the iphones in China, will definitely recruit thousands of local working labor. It provides the business growth for that city as a whole. Many people, who have good chances to work with this firm, could both earn their livings and also develop their skill to a higher level at the same time. Moreover, the factory also enhances the business growth since there must be lots of raw material to be supplied in order to make one cellphone. This would positively build the growth to the local supply chain firms. In summary, I agree that a large factory is a good idea as long as it does not harm the environment or does not create any danger to people in the nieghborhood.
