To begin with, the reading states that using electronic devices can decrease the level of critical thinking of the people. However, the lecture argues that paper-material is more limited. The paper is developed for a journalist and specific companies that provide limited information. Therefore, learning through paper does not improve critical thinking. But, learning from electronic devices can provide a range of different perspectives to readers. Second, the reading argues the use of electronic devices can be harmful to our health. Due to its probability to increase our chance to develop eye problems or damage to the brain. On the other hand, the lecturer disagrees with that by saying that electronic device if use with breaks and distance from the screen is not harmful to our health. Moreover, there is no scientific evidence that proves that electronic devices are harmful to our health. Also, paper material can harm our health. Finally, the reading claims that the use of electronic devices can cause addiction by decreasing communication with people. On the contrary, the lecture states that electronic devices improve social contact. Also, it provides familiarity with several objects. In conclusion, the reading states that electronic devices have many side effects by discussing many arguments. The lecture disagrees with that by casting out each of these arguments.
