Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Life today is easier and more comfortable than it was when your grandparents were children.?
Nowadays many agree that a myriad of elements should be taken into considerations while examining the constructive and destructive facets of the given topic. From my vantage point modern technologies and discoveries have changed our life greatly. I hold this opinion for a plethora of reasons which I will delineate in the following paragraphs. To begin with, the first exquisite point to be mentioned is that the increase in life span. Nowadays life- span has increased compared to grandparent’s era because of the advancement and inventions of medications. For instance, the invention of antibiotics like penicillin has cured most of the infectious disease and radiation besides chemotherapy has cured many cancer patients. I must admit that my opinion on this matter has been profoundly influenced by my own personal experience. I remember when my best friend’s mother suffering from breast cancer. She is almost to die, but due to radiation and chemotherapy along with advanced medications for cancer will help her life back to normal. For this reason, advanced technology has helped nowadays living happily compared to grandparent’s era. Secondly, although the pursuant reasons were the first to cross the mind, they are by no means the only reason available. Another subtle point which deserves some words to say is that development of computers and the internet. The grand parent’s do not know how to use computers and the internet. Drawing from my own experience it is possible to pay telephone bills and electricity bills within a minute using internet through computers or mobile phones. Moreover, seventy years before grandparents need to go office to pay for the utility bills and it takes one day for each office for paying bills at least. It is certainly clear to see using internet facilities online messages able to contact anyone around the world at a low cost. So, life is more comfortable than compared to grandparent’s era. To wrap it out, contemplating all foresaid reasons, I strongly believe that there is no question that living today is easier and more comfortable than when our grandparents were children. No one can deny that there are both positive and negative aspects of today's easier and comfortable life. It is suggested that modern technologies and use resources more efficiently will give an easier and comfortable lifestyle.
